Beginnings...

Growing up is mind-blowing...especially when you've kept multiple journals and old projects in tact from when you were 6 years old, and then find said memorabilia 17 years later. I suppose that's what makes time capsules so incredible.  But I don't have a time capsule. All I have are boxes and plastic tubs filled with things I don't want to discard. Mom calls me a pack-rat. I am. I like shiny things, and I justify keeping junk around by telling myself I'll definitely need it later...for God knows what.  Eventually, I toss some crap here and there, but one thing I'm glad I kept is the memory of the beginning of my life as an artist.  Even without the physical reminder, I remember it very distinctly - the day I decided I wanted to illustrate constantly. It was 1996, my family was sitting in church on the right side of the building. My dad had bought me a thick, brown planner so he could start to teach me organization in everyday life and also encourage me to ta...

Sailor Universe Cosplay Thoughts

Yo~! Just a short blurb about some stuff that ran through my head as I was finishing my latest costume - So, I’ve finally finished the masterpiece I’ve been dreaming about for over a decade. Uni’s always been a reflection of how I see myself in the mirror. When I drew her for the first time a year or so after conjuring the idea of her, I was just starting to grow out my bangs around the 4 th and 5 th grades and had to wear epic headbands to keep them out of my face; I distinctly remember my folks, and even my teacher, getting on my case about the unruly hair. Long hair was a must for me, including the bangs, so I dealt with it. After a while I attempted to part them to the side as was suggested. I parted them on my right so the bulk would flow to my left…that’s how it looked best to me in the mirror anyway. Since forever, I’ve looked better in my reflection than in reality, IMO. As such, Universe has always been more beautiful in my mind. She’s who I want to...

Ohai~

Muha~ Long time, no post. Woah. Got some time, so might as well. The audio file to that first podcast has gone missing, so bear with me while I try to find it. I do still plan to do some in the future, but God knows it probably won't be a continuation of what I started. That was a whole two years ago, and I've just about lost interest completely as I thought I would. This is officially a place in which I will do whatever the hell I want. Post pictures, rant verbally, sing, etc. Nsider2.com forced me to join twitter so they could get themselves an extra follower (aren't they just so special), and since I'm the head graphic artist there, I obliged. And since twitter is now uncomfortably a part of my life.....may as well use the damn thing. So, you'll be seein' that here to the right. K, gonna go get some other crap done - later. ~Uni

Introduction and Game Talk~

Welcome to Abyss Podcasts hosted by the webmistress of anime-abyss.com~ So, the podcasts in this realm will mostly revolve around the concepts of Japanese animation and the world of video gaming. This was started by a class assignment, so until the class ends I will feel a bit obligated to stay on-topic. However, after this school year, there will be no rules to hold me back and who knows...I might decide to take full advantage of my freedom. :] You can find the first podcast to the right titled "It's War - Part 1". It's an intro to a discussion on Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. [[Please wait while I look for the audio file since my old high school decided to remove it from their server]] Guests are: Kalani Hubbard and Jonathan Gee And I realize the quality of the session could improve. I'm going to work on that for next time. Enjoy~ I'll be back. ^^ -Ashleigh
